Who We Are
The Carleton University Human Rights Society (CUHRS) is a passionate and student-driven academic society dedicated to raising awareness of human rights violations and combating global injustice. With a focus on inclusivity and equality, our organization aims to foster academic, social, and professional relationships among students in the Human Rights and Social Justice program, as well as the broader Carleton community.
We prioritize the well-being and support of our members, striving to create an environment that celebrates diversity and respects individual identities. CUHRS operates with a strong commitment to non-discrimination, rejecting any form of bias based on race, religion, colour, national or ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, age, or political conviction. We actively promote the active participation of all individuals and groups, working diligently to schedule events, elections, and meetings that accommodate the needs of various religious, cultural, social, and other groups to which our members belong.
Through awareness, fundraising, and engagement in the human rights field, we endeavour to make a meaningful impact and contribute to the betterment of human rights conditions locally and globally.
