Purpose
The Carleton University Human Rights Society (CUHRS) is a student led organization dedicated to protecting, upholding, and advancing human rights through education, advocacy, and action. Our goal is to create an environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity and are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.
We strive to create a student-driven space for dialogue, collaboration, and activism around human rights-related issues. By engaging in collective advocacy and utilizing our diverse talents, we are committed to creating a more equitable and just society.
there may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.
― Elie Wiesel, Nobel Lecture
